Last year when planning the food for my first camping trip of the summer, I came across banana boats. I had never made them when camping as a kid, but now they’ve become a staple on my camping trips!
The ingredients: bananas (1 per person, per night…believe me!), graham crackers, marshmallows, chocolate of choice. Don’t forget aluminum foil too!
I’m excited.
Very excited.
Cut the ends off the banana and slit it lengthwise. Make sure not to cut it all the way through.
Fill ‘er up: chocolate, graham cracker, then marshmallow.
Wrap it up in aluminum foil and place it over the fire for about 10-15 minutes. The banana should be squishy and the chocolate melted.
Grab a spoon and dig in.
Another way I’ve just tried making them is roasting the marshmallows separately. Wrap the banana, chocolate and graham crackers, roast, then put the roasted marshmallows on top after everything’s done. This stops the marshmallows from completely melting.
Mmmm…delicious!
That looks so good! Next MNSC potluck we’re making these!
